We would like to congratulate our board member Dr. Jean Qiu on the recent enlistment of her company Nexcelom Bioscience to the Inc 500 (ranked 101st)and the Top 10 Asian-Run Comanpies (ranked 4th).
Together with her husband Dr. Peter Li,the husband-wife team runs a company that provides cell analysis solutions for cancer research, vaccine development, and drug discovery. They started Nexcelom out of the basement of their home in 2003; Dr. Li joined her full-time in 2006 to help expand the company, according to an interview available at http://www.inc.com.
The Inc. 500 was ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2005 through 2008. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by the first week of 2005, and therefore able to show four full calendar years of sales. Companies also have to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent -- not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies.
